In the framework of our studies at the College, the wide variety of courses that we studied in the information systems major provided us with the extensive theoretical and practical knowledge that constitutes a central component of the work processes of most industrial organizations and plants. In the framework of these studies, we learned to analyze work processes in organizations and to characterize information needs that these information systems support.
Studies in this major helped us greatly both in executing our final project and in integrating into the profession in industry. We selected a final project in the Veterinary Department of the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem. We chose this organization since there was a real need for computerizing medical documentation for the animals in the zoo. During the project, we analyzed the information needs of the Veterinary Department, characterized the new information system and set it up.
