The applications all reach the Registration Department at which the review process takes place.
Stage 1:
A student who complies with the published acceptance criteria of the College for a particular department is automatically accepted into that department. Automatic acceptance to one of the departments does not automatically bring with it acceptance to the other departments in the College. Acceptance into each department is reviewed separately.
Stage 2:
The applications of candidates who do not meet criteria for acceptance to the study departments recorded on the application form are transferred to the College’s Acceptance Committee. Acceptance of the candidate to the department recorded by the candidate as first preference, as well as departments noted as second and third preference, is discussed at the Acceptance Committee. In addition, candidates who have automatically been accepted to only some of the departments recorded in the application form are also sent to the Acceptance Committee. In this way the candidate receives a full picture of his status with respect to all the departments that he has recorded on the application form.
Stage 3:
A candidate who has been accepted and who is interested changing his/her preferred department, or has been accepted in another departments that he has not previously recorded in his preferences (see Chapter 7 – Change of Preference), will complete a Change of Preference Form and will undergo the acceptance process an additional time. At the conclusion of the acceptance process, a letter is sent to the candidate in response, in which he/she will be recorded with respect to each department that he/she has entered – whether he/she has been accepted, has been accepted on condition and what those conditions are, a recommendation for pre-academic study or rejection.
