Azrieli Mechanical Engineering students design for the science museum and an international exhibit.

A bicycle exhibition marking the bicentennial of the bicycle’s invention opened this summer (2017) at the Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem, and Azrieli students contributed to the exhibition, which will embark on its international tour in 2018.

The exhibition includes dozens of interactive exhibits, historic collections from Canada, the US, and Holland, with contemporary bicycles, works of art, videos, graphics and more.

The exhibition’s exhibits include the experience of cycling through a unique wind tunnel, designed by Itamar Sasson and Tomer Krashai, two fourth-year students of Azrieli’s Mechanical Engineering department, as their final project and under the guidance of Dr. Moshe Zilberman, head of the college’s Mechanical Engineering department.

The exhibition is an international collaboration headed by the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem and in conjunction with the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa, Canada; the Universum science museum in Bremen, Germany; and the Citta Della Scienza science museum in Naples, Italy.
